About

I am a Data Scientist at Educational Testing Services (ETS) and a Ph.D. candidate in Information Systems Engineering at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU), with my defense scheduled for October 2024. My professional goal is to develop and support AI/ML initiatives in technology-driven environments, operationalizing these initiatives to foster a data-driven approach across multiple teams.

At ETS, I led the Enterprise MLOps Guidance Framework development, successfully integrating it into the organization’s Enterprise Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This integration streamlined the development and deployment of AI/ML initiatives, increasing deployment of solutions by 5%. My technical expertise includes Python, SQL, and Machine Learning, focusing on developing and deploying end-to-end, fully managed Machine Learning Models. My Doctoral Dissertation showcases the integration of real-time inferences of water quality parameters using Amazon SageMaker services, decreasing 20% of the time frame to obtain Water Quality predictions. Additionally, I established data request intake and incident management processes, which have improved the efficiency and reliability of data operations across the organization.

I am a bilingual professional fluent in English and Spanish and currently learning Portuguese. I collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers, AI Engineers, Architects, Data Scientists, Full-Stack Engineers, Management, and Product Development teams, advancing AI/ML initiatives within ETS. My involvement in the AI/ML Community of Practice has enriched my understanding of the AI landscape and Responsible AI adoption while enhancing my public speaking skills.

Committed to education and mentoring, I support the career growth of the Hispanic/Latino/LatinX community. In October 2023, I was honored as ETS Volunteer of the Month for organizing workshops and mentoring sessions in collaboration with the UNIDOS BRG and HISPA. As a Career Pathways Seminar Speaker for the SureStart "MIT FutureMakers Create-a-thon" and the "Colby College Summer program", I provided valuable insights into the student skills gap and the necessary support for students to achieve their full potential.
